DESCRIZIONE:
David had long set his heart on finding a place in Italy having studied in Modena when he was at university. After a long search we found Marta and Riccardo’s website and on it the perfect little house in the mountains – we couldn’t afford much but this looked just right,. We came over for a holiday in August 2004 and made an appointment with Riccardo to see that house and some others that were on the site. Unfortunately we had underestimated how long the very scenic (and very beautiful) drive through the mountains of Tuscany would take and ended up about four hours late! Fortunately Riccardo was as gracious as ever.
After having a chat about the kind of thing we were looking for we set off through the towns and hills all the while learning lots about the history and culture of the area around Sansepolcro. It’s obviously a place that’s close to Marta and Riccardo’s hearts and we very quickly learned why. We were shown a small selection of houses that met our requirements and we fell in love with the one that we’d originally seen on the website.
The purchase could have been a daunting process but nothing was too much trouble and Marta and Riccardo helped us tirelessly all the way through – from the reading of the contracts through to the setting up of bank accounts and utilities for the house. Even when the sale was done the service didn’t stop, Marta and Riccardo have always been on hand to give us advice about builders and local services (and even responded straight away to a panicked request for a plumber on an Italian bank holiday!)
After spending some time and money on the house we’re really pleased with how things have worked out and are even thinking of buying another – of course through Romolini.com! We have found that we can trust Marta and Riccardo to give us a realistic idea of a property and to always pick the right things to show us. They really have been fantastic and we always enjoy coming to see them when we’re over in Italy.
