DESCRIZIONE:High quality Tuscan winery.
This historic property is situated in the Valdarno territory between Florence and Arezzo.
The farm with its 140 hectares is a share of what was a world famous aristocratic property in the
fifteenth century. The vineyards are about 30 hectares (biological method).
The farm efforts are spent to strengthen the vines and to raise the quality of the wines more and
more. Presently, the production is 80.000 bottles, which can be extended to 200.000 bottles.
Production includes classic-, as well as high quality, innovative wines like Malvasia,
Sangiovese, Chianti Superiore, Vin Santo, Vin Santo Riserva. The principal markets are Italy,
United States of America, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands and Denmark.
New markets waiting are United Kingdom, Canada and India.
Since the owners want to limit the vineyards production, they prune with Cordone Speronato
method. They harvest more times to obviate a possible difference in the ripening status of
grapes.
The Fattoria building (2.200 sqm) of stone contains the wine cellar, which is partially
underground. The winemaking system can work 2.000 hectolitres and its area is 600 sqm. Vats
are steel-made. But there are used old typical vats as well being built a hundred years ago. The
temperature of the vats is kept under control by a system that allows the manage fermentations.
The wine cellar contains about 120 variously toasted barriques.
The building contains also 2 apartments and a wine presentation room.
The owner, an oenologist, personally takes care of vineyards and winemaking process with the
members of the team that is completed by a sommelier.
