STATE AND FINISHES


The villa (327 sqm – 3,518 sqft) has a peculiar shape: technically speaking, it is a Greek cross, which means the two arms have the same length (as opposed to the Latin cross, which has different arms). These arms, however, are not perpendicular to each other, giving the building a sinuous and fluid shape.

Entering the ground floor, one finds himself in the spacious and bright living area that includes a TV corner (southwest arm), the kitchen with dining area (southeast arm), a bar corner right next to the entrance door and a guest bathroom. The other two arms of the cross (northwest and northeast) house two generous double bedrooms, each fitted with a private bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe. Right at the center of the floor is a beautiful circular courtyard, around which the staircase goes up to the first floor.

Once on top, we are in a landing. As for energy, the villa is really eco-friendly with modern solutions that allow lowering energy consumptions up to 60% (heat pump, photovoltaic system, rainwater cistern, passive ventilation, solar exposure…).

 

Still outside, the villa features an organic vegetable garden and a zen garden designed by architect Colin K. Okashimo who chose the plants himself so that they fared well in the area. Beyond the road, the villa features a second patch of land housing the garage and a garden surrounded by a paved walkway, ideal to relax in the pleasant climate of Lake Maggiore.
