Contatta Romolini Immobiliare

Among the many wines produced in the Bordeaux region, the following are worth a special mention: Bordeaux Rouge AOC, Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge, Bordeaux Clairet, Bordeaux Rosé, Bordeaux Blanc, Bordeaux Supérieur Blanc and Crémant de Bordeaux.

Vines were imported in the Bordeaux region by Romans, which established vineyards to produce wines for their soldiers. While extremely appreciated in France, during the Middle Ages, this wine was seldom exported. The marriage between Henry Plantagenet and Aliénor d’Aquitaine made the Aquitaine region (and in turn Bordeaux) an English possession and wine quickly made its way in Britain. The reclamation of swamps in Médoc by the Dutch allowed the wine-making business to flourish and reach new heights in the 17th century. Since 1936, Bordeaux wines are protected by the AOC stamp. The most renowned and appreciated towns in this wine area are Bordeaux, Libourne, Sauveterre de Guyenne, Blasimon, Creon, Pellegrue, Monsegne, Duras, CastillonSt. Emilion, Cadillac, Lussac, Sauternes, Bouliac, Cambes and La Rochelle.
